126600_comiccon_SAW_Another Stephen King bestseller could be headed to TV. The author’s time-travel novel 11/22/63 may become a TV series with J.J. Abrams as an executive producer, sources confirm. Abrams’ Bad Robot production company and Warner Bros. TV are in talks to adapt the author’s 2011 novel, about a teacher who travels back in time and tries to prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy

The novel’s tale seems like it’s more suitable for a film or mini-series than an open-ended show, but time-travel TV concepts have certainly managed to find success previously. In the book, the protagonist travels back to five years before Kennedy’s murder, so there’s a lengthy period detailing his adjustment to life in the past and stalking Kennedy’s assassin Lee Harvey Oswald before the story gets to November, 1963.

This summer, another King tale that initially seemed more suitable for a movie or miniseries,Under the Dome, makes its series debut on CBS.
