Galaxy Note Disappears from T-Mobile USA Web Site

Despite having only launched earlier this month, Samsung’s Galaxy Note phablet has vanished from carrier T-Mobile’s web site. An examination of the carrier’s Android product page shows no sign of the large-screen Samsung phone, and posts on the T-Mobile support board show some customers expressing confusion over how to get the device. It is possible that T-Mobile has simply exhausted its supply of the device, but the timing could indicate that Samsung is throttling back supplies of the device ahead of the launch of its successor.

Given that earlier models of other Samsung devices are still available for purchase alongside newer models, it is unlikely that Samsung is discontinuing the original Note. The device debuted last year to very strong sales, and Samsung is said to have sold millions of Note units in the time since.

T-Mobile’s supply shortage, then, might be indicative of overall demand for the phone-tablet hybrid. Some reports, though, have the carrier simply selling out its remaining stock ahead of the August 29 launch of the Galaxy Note II.
