Samsung has again teased its forthcoming successor to the 10 million plus selling Galaxy Note. The Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2012 event for the Galaxy Note II will take place on August in Berlin where the new device will be revealed in full ahead of IFA. The new teaser video (embedded below) features director Wim Wenders, known for his imaginative films, talking about the virtues of the new device.

“All the things you can do in the blink of an eye,” says Wenders, “with such a small and light thing – anybody can do it.”

Although the clip does not reveal the device in full, it shows a number of quick cuts to the S Pen engaged in largely artistic endeavors. The date at the end of the teaser also aligns with Samsung’s confirmed August 29 launch date for the Galaxy Note II. Of all Samsung’s tablet-class devices, the Galaxy Note has so far been the most successful by some margin. So much so that the Korean giant has remade its Galaxy Tab 10.1 in an alternative Galaxy Note 10.1 iteration believing that the S Pen functionality might offer enough differentiation that it could steal some sales from Apple’s iPad.

The Galaxy Note II has been rumored to pick up a flexible AMOLED display, which is also thought to be boosted in size from the 5.3-inches of the original to 5.5-inches. It will run either Android 4.0 “Ice Cream Sandwich” or Android 4.1 “Jelly Bean” and may pick up Samsung’s Exynos quad-core 4112 processor. Other rumors also indicate that it may incorporate a 12- or 12-megapixel camera, although no one until Wim Wenders said it, would have thought that it was possible that the phablet could be described as being “small.”
