YouSendIt has announced that the company has successfully completed a SAS 70 Type II audit of its internal controls processes. Performed by Deloitte & Touche LLP, the audit signifies YouSendIt not only has the proper controls in place to safeguard sensitive information, but those controls are indeed effective.
“We take our customers’ privacy very seriously and proactively follow industry best practices to ensure such,” said Renee Budig, chief financial officer at YouSendIt. “Our goal for this review was to evaluate the effectiveness and integrity of the controls in place at YouSendIt so we can continue to provide customers the highest quality of service, and we are pleased with the results of the audit.”
Issued by the Auditing Standards Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Statement on Auditing Standards number 70 (SAS 70) provides guidance to auditors for assessing and reporting on the operational controls of a service provider. A successful SAS 70 Type II review validates that a service provider like YouSendIt has the appropriate internal controls and security practices in operation.
Deloitte & Touche conducted the audit of YouSendIt and tested the controls in practice at YouSendIt during a review period from November 1, 2009 to April 30, 2010.
