WP7 Connector Brings Zune HD to Macs is Now on Mac App Store

Microsoft entered the Mac App Store for the first time by posting the free Windows Phone 7 Connector (free, Mac App Store). The version only major change is  the surprise of official support for the Zune HD, marking the first time a Zune media player has had official support on the Mac. The support had already existed but needed a command-line tweak to start working.

Regardless of the use of a Windows Phone 7 device or a Zune HD, the app serves as a conduit to transfer iTunes media to Microsoft’s previously Windows-only devices. It can sync unprotected music down to individual artists and also shares similarly unguarded videos and as well as photos and podcasts. It doesn’t currently sync contacts, calendars or other purely information-based accounts.

The app will provide a reverse sync and will automatically push camera photos to iPhoto. It further serves as the official way to upgrade the firmware if not handling it over the air.
