PJ ByrneThe Wolf of Wall Street‘s P.J. Byrne has joined Martin Scorsese’s currently untitled HBO rock ‘n’ roll pilot. The currently untitled drama is set in 1970s New York and will follow Richie Finestra (Bobby Cannavale), a record exec trying to resurrect his label as punk and disco are breaking into the city’s drug- and sex-fueled music scene. Byrne has been cast in the role of Scott Levitt, Finestra’s partner.

Last month, it was announced that Parenthood‘s Ray Romano had joined the cast as Zak Yankovich, one of Finestra’s friends who has a history of experience in the music business dating back to the days of the mob. The rest of the cast includes Olivia Wilde, Juno Temple, Max Castella, and Jack Quaid.

Scorsese is expected to direct the pilot, which is set to begin production this summer. Scorsese will also executive produce the project alongside Mick Jagger, Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter, and George Mastras, who will also serve as showrunner. Winter and Mastras co-wrote the pilot.

Byrne’s next appearance is in the film Eloise, which stars Eliza Dushku, Robert Patrick, and Gossip Girl‘s Chace Crawford.
