Windows Phone 7’s U.S. Launch Will be Limited AT&T, T-Mobile

Now it’s clear why Verizon won’t be carrying any Windows Phone 7 devices when they’re launched for the holidays  – Microsoft’s mobile OS isn’t ready for CDMA phones, just GSM.

That leaves just AT&T and T-Mobile, for this year’s launch in the US.

“We had to make some trade-offs,” Greg Sullivan, senior product manager for Windows Phone, told CNET News. “Even Microsoft doesn’t have unlimited resources. We had to prioritize doing fewer things, really, really well.”

The smartphone  OS won’t have cut-and-paste,  Flash nor true multitasking at launch. With the phone having strong ties to the Office suite and Verizon known to cater to the business use, this could be a fatal mistake.   Then again, We at TOT are sure Verzon is still stinging a little from the Kin debacle.
