It is the holiday buying season.  We here at ToT can tell because the subjects lines in our inboxes read Black Friday and Holiday now. One of the bigger gifts this year will be video games, but not all games are right for all people.  No we are not talking about just game play here but what is in the game.

The Washington Capitals know this and have teamed up with the Entertainment Software Rating Board on a new public service announcement to remind parents about using the industry’s rating system when shopping for video games for their children.

In the PSA, Vokoun and Halpern remind parents to check a game’s rating every time they purchase a game. Filmed in late September at a GameStop store in Fairfax, VA, the PSA will air on national and local broadcast stations in the D.C. metro-area, on the big screen during Capitals’ home games and on the Capitals’ website.

Parents can look up a game’s rating summary right from the store using a free mobile app (www.esrb.org/mobile), mobile website (m.esrb.org), or search for games before heading to the store by searching ESRB’s website at www.esrb.org.
