Vermont Telephone (VTel) is aiming to trump Comcast and Google in the high-speed Internet stakes, by offering its customers a 10Gbps service.
A three-year construction project set to complete by June 30 and paid for in part by an $85 million award from the US Department of Agriculture’s Rural Utilities Service.
While the extremely high-speed service is good news, it will only be available to approximately 18,000 homes and businesses in the coverage area, and will cost $400 per month.
