Verizon in Twitter update confirming that it would introduce Android-based devices for its LTE network at its CES keynote. The January 6 event should show its first 4G devices beyond modems. It’s not yet known whether the launch will involve phones, tablets or both.

Details have already emerged of the HTC Incredible HD being Verizon’s first 4G phone, though whether or not it will launch soon isn’t certain. Verizon has only said it would launch its first 4G phones by mid-2011 and may not be ready for months. The Incredible HD is nonetheless mostly an adaptation of the Desire HD with CDMA and LTE onboard.

Another  is the Motorola 10-inch tablet, which should come in an LTE version and may show at Motorola’s own presentation the day before. The larger size may be important since LTE still usually consumes more battery life and would have less impact on a larger device.
