Verizon has updated its Share Everything plans to include an additional lower tier of data allowance. The new 500MB option offers the same unlimited voice minutes and unlimited text messages as its higher-priced stablemates, though the price is trimmed down from the $50 of the 1GB tier to a marginally lower $40 offering.
The new tier, announced via the Verizon Wireless Twitter account, brings the cost of the plan with one smartphone down to $80 in total, with additional smartphones costing $40 and basic phones $30 each. Costs for adding hotspots and modems, tablets, and connected devices to the plan remain the same, at $20, $10, and $5 per month respectively.
In comparison, AT&T expanded its Mobile Share plans last month, providing a 300MB tier for $20 per month and 2GB for $50, with smartphones costing $50 and $45 respectively.
