Solstice Studios, in a surprise move, has pushed up the Russell Crowe-led psychological thriller Unhinged from September to a July 1st global release date along with dropping the film’s first trailer below.

The film takes an ordinary, everyday incident to its most terrifying conclusion. Caren Pistorius plays Rachel, a young mother who leans on her horn at the wrong time and to the wrong guy (Crowe). What he’s about to do to her and everyone she knows goes far beyond ‘road rage’.

Derrick Borte helms the film which was penned by  writer Carl Ellsworth (Disturbia). The new date will reportedly make it the first new film to be distributed to theaters  since movie houses and production stopped due to COVID-19.

The company says the move comes in response to a new poll showing that more than 80% of Americans want to go out to the movies in July. The release will also take place with other theater openings in nations around the world.
