TruConnect Mobile Launches – Pay As You Go 3G Mobile Intenet Service in the US

The mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) is not dead in the US, after-all.  TruConnect Mobile LLC today announced TruConnect Mobile, a new unbundled mobile internet service for laptops and iPads with an ultra low price: Just $4.99 per month plus 3.9 cents per megabyte.

TruConnect offers the service via the $69.99 TruConnect USB device for Windows or Mac laptops, or the $89.99 TruConnect MiFi that can connect up to five WiFi-equipped laptops or tablets to the service at the same time. The service runs on the Sprint nationwide network, which covers 97 percent of the U.S.

TruConnect Mobile thinks there is a large group of  a laptop or tablet owners who what a  mobile Internet, but don’t want to be locked into $30 – $80 per month for the next two years and then face overage charges, throttled data rates.

With TruConnect, consumers get a pay as you go rate, paying for only the data they use, for only as long as they want the service.

The prepaid service has no contract and can even be temporarily suspended if it is not needed for an extended period of time. The service can be ordered at http://www.truconnect.com/.  The TruConnect website also offers users tools to track their data usage and payments and manage their profile.
