Transformer Prime Hits Very High Marks During Early Testing

The Transformer Prime from ASUS, the first tablet to come with NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3 processor, was just benchmarked. Tech2 stumbled across the AnTuTu Android benchmark test for the as-yet unreleased tablet, which had it topping the charts. It was the first mobile device to breach the 10,000 number, posting a 12,872, though that number reportedly came from one with a 1.6GHz chip.

The score makes the tablet nearly twice as powerful as the original, current Eee Pad Transformer, which posted a 7,596 number. The graph embedded below is said to reflect the result achieved by a 1.4GHz Prime, however.

Most of the gain comes through the two extra cores and should see the ASUS tablet matched or possibly beaten when Apple, Samsung, and others bring their own quad-core processors to devices like the iPad and Galaxy Tab.
