EA Sports has released Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 in separate editions for the iPhone/iPod Touch and the iPad. The new version has all-new graphics, new game modes, new courses, new competing golfers, Facebook and mini-game challenges, and a multiplayer option over local Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. The iPhone/iPod Touch version will also be available in a free edition that offers full functionality and the Facebook challenge option but is limited to three holes on one course, while the iPad version has an exclusive Swing Meter.

The full game ($7 for iPhone version, $10 for iPad version) offers eight full courses, including the fan favorite “Predator” fantasy course and the Old White Course at Greenbrier. New golfers to compete against include Anthony Kim, Camilo Villegas, Paul Casey, Jim Furyk, Zach Johnson and Paula Creamer. There is also a “Challenge Tiger” mode with 20 mini-games against Woods, which offers special prizes for mastery.

The new graphics are optimized for the Retina Display on iPhone and customized for the iPad on their respective versions. Players can choose one of four “modes” for playing: a solo game, local network multiplayer, PGA Tour mode or the Tiger Challenge. Results can be posted to Facebook, and twice a week there is a par-3 hole for a “closest to the pin” Facebook challenge.

The game requires iOS 3.0 or later (iPhone/iPod Touch) or iOS 3.2 or later (iPad). Both versions are rated 4+ and are localized for English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Spanish.
