Skyhook Wireless Added to Apot

Skyhook Wireless today announced a partnership with Apot, a Twitter client for Android.

Apot, by adlib, is a simple Twitter client that allows users to post updates to their Twitter accounts. Using Skyhook, Apot users can now post messages and pictures with their current location included, allowing others to view that location on a map.

“Location is a key feature of my Apot app, and requires exact positioning. This is especially true in Tokyo, where GPS often fails to perform. Skyhook provides better navigation even if you are underground or in a commercial complex,” said Takeshi Kabata, developer at Adlib.

“Apot is an example of a social networking app using location in a cool way,” said Kate Imbach, director of marketing for Skyhook Wireless. “With Skyhook in the app, users are able to share their precise location with friends, allowing closer connections and a richer experience on Twitter.”

Apot can be downloaded for free today in the Android Marketplace. Skyhook Wireless offers a publicly available SDK for Android developers, available here: www.skyhookwireless.com/developers/sdk.php.
