Samsung upgraded its US computer displays with two models previously only available outside the US. The 30 series and 90 series both have internal HDTV tuners to pick up ATSC signals. Both also support 1080p, picture-in-picture viewing and two HDMI inputs to take in a cable box or game console without an adapter.

The 30 series  is aimed at the consumer market with  21.5-inch, 23-inch and 24-inch models with simpler LCD panels that produce a 70,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. They support Dolby Digital Plus over their 3W speakers and  are prioced  between $270 and $330.

Only  one 90 series model is available, the FX2490, and at 24 inches uses LED backlighting that gives it a 5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. The speakers are upgraded to 5W at the same time on the lone $420 model.

Samsung is already shipping the 30 series and expects the 90 series to follow in September.
