The last we heard, Javier Bardem was attached to play Roland in the Dark Tower. Producers Ron Howard and Brian Grazer were overseeing Akiva Goldsman’s work on the script. And it was going to be adaptation that played outacross three films.
There have been some changes on the leading man front.
According to Deadline, Warner Bros. Pictures is about to get a script from Goldsman soon and will then make plans on how to move forward.
Plus, Javier Bardem is out and the lead role is now being pitched to Russell Crowe be be Roland Deschain.
Crowe stars in Warner Bros.’ upcoming Superman movie Man of Steel and Paramount’s Noah.
