Adult Swim’s pop culture-spoofing Robot Chicken will next peck at The Walking Dead.
Akin to its past work with major franchises such as Star Wars and the DC Comics universe, the Emmy-winning Robot Chicken team will next join forces with The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and showrunner Scott M. Gimple to deliver the “extra-bloody half-hour special” Robot Chicken: The Walking Dead, which will unleash an animated zombie apocalypse.
Also among the new programming announced at the cabler’s Upfronts presentation:
- As previously announced, Samurai Jack will return with a new season of episodes from creator Genndy Tartakovsky.
- Adult Swim will offer a new home to Decker: Unclassified, the action-packed web series in which the titular agent subverts terrorist plots against America.
- Brett Gelman’s Dinner in America will engage Joe Morton (Scandal), Loretta Devine (The Carmichael Show), Shareeka Epps (Half Nelson) and Mack Wilds (The Wire) in an open forum on racism, with “unflinching, confrontational” results.
- Montana James, a half-hour live-action special produced by Funny or Die in which a feathered-cap-wearing, syndicated-TV explorer seeks the coveted Holy Grail.
