RIM today bought Cellmania in what’s a likely a bid to improve BlackBerry App World. Cellmania which has produced software at the heart of other mobile app stores, did say it will now be focused on work for an application storefront development for BlackBerry phones. Cellmania plans to continue supporting its existing customers but will be devoted entirely to RIM for any new work.
App World currently has just 9,000 titles while the Android market place has passed 80,000 and Apple’s App Store passed 225,000 months ago.
