Razer Holds Limited Pre-Order Window for Mamba Tournament Edition Mouse

razer-mamba-TE_w_300Initially announced at E3, Razer‘s updated Mamba gaming mouse featured a new sensor and the company’s own Adjustable Click Force Technology. The Mamba came in two versions: the standard wireless mouse, and the wire-connected Tournament Edition for those who need the quick response time for intense matches of League of Legends or Dota 2.

Razer is so confident in the Mamba’s success, specifically in the Tournament Edition, that it’s holding a small pre-order window for the wired mouse from July 23 to July 31.

Those who purchase the mouse during this time will have it by August at the earliest, the same time when it shows up on Razer’s online store. Best Buy is expected to have it in stock later that month, and other participating retailers won’t get their hands on it until September or even October.

In addition to the new Chroma lighting feature, the Mamba Tournament Edition has one big difference from its wireless sibling in that it doesn’t contain the Adjustable Click Force Technology, which allows the user to adjust the amount of force required to press the left or right mouse buttons. The elimination of the feature in the wired version brings its price down to $89.99 compared to the wireless mouse, which will be sold at $149.99.

It should be noted that the pre-order seems to be only for the Tournament Edition. A quick look at the store offerings online doesn’t even show the wireless version. It’s unclear if it will launch alongside the Tournament Edition, so users will be able to see if the $70 price gap is worth the purchase.
