It’s being reported that FOX Television has put in an order for a pilot based on the popular BBC crime-drama “Luther” as well as three others for the 2015-2016 season.

The original “Luther” was a huge hit both in England and in the States, where Idris Elba has been nominated for multiple Emmys and Golden Globes for the role he originated as the genius detective. He won a Golden Globe for the role in 2010.

The new show will be written by original show creator Neil Cross, who executive produces the show along with Elba, Peter Chernin, Katherine Pope, Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner. Twentieth Century Fox TV is co-producing the new show with Chernin Entertainment and BBC Worldwide Productions.

At the same time, FOX has picked up the sci-fi drama “Frankenstein,” written and produced by Rand Ravish (“Crisis,” “Life”), which takes inspiration from Mary Shelley’s novel in telling the story of Ray Pritchard, a retired corrupt cop who is brought back from the dead by scientists and has to decide whether to follow his old path or start a new one.

FOX has also ordered a pilot for the drama “Rosewood,” a procedural from Todd Harthan (“Psych”) and a single-camera comedy from Charlie Grandy (“The Daily Show”) called “48 Hours ‘Til Monday.”
