Tom Cruise first played hotshot fighter pilot Capt. Pete “Maverick” Mitchell in 1986’s Top Gun.
In the coming movie, Maverick is now a flight school instructor teaching Lt. Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw (Miles Teller), who is the son of his late best friend Nick “Goose” Bradshaw (Anthony Edwards), who died in the events of the original film.
The movie also stars Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris and Val Kilmer as Ice Man.
Paramount Pictures and Skydance Entertainment will bring Top Gun: Maverick to the big screen on June 26
