Pantech has expanded its Vega range with another smartphone that can read fingerprints. The Vega Secret Up has a smaller 5.6-inch 1080p display compared to the Vega Secret Note, and while it has relatively similar internal specifications, there are a few small changes to make it slightly cheaper than its recent predecessor.

Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. Able to connect over LTE-A, it also has a 3,150mAh battery and a rear 13-megapixel camera, though it loses the V Pen stylus. Just as before, the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor on the Android 4.2.2 device will allow it to unlock and offer access to files hidden on the device, while its Secret 2.0 mode adds in the option to only display the files when the screen is viewed from the front, but not when viewed at an angle.

Pantech will be selling the Vega Secret Up in South Korea later this month, and though it has yet to be priced, it is probably going to cost less than the 900,000 won ($850) the Vega Secret Note sells for. It is unlikely that it will be sold outside of the country.
