Panasonic QE-QL301 to Power iPads, Other Tablets and Phones

Panasonic has unveiled a new external battery pack. The flagship QE-QL301 can share its maximum 10,260mAh of power between two USB devices at once. At four times the power of even a well-equipped smartphone, it has both the power to give meaningful extra battery life to two devices, including to tablets like the iPad.

A full seven chargers will be part of the lineup, although not all will have the same features. Twin USB ports will be available on smaller 1,430mAh (QL102), 2,700mAh (QL101), and 5,400mAh (QL201) packs; a 1,900mAh QV201 stick relies only on USB to charge and can’t be powered up at the same time. Three wireless charging models will have just one USB port, but the 2,700mAh (PL102), 5,400mAh (PL202), and PL301 (8,100mAh) batteries will support Qi wireless power through an optional charging pad for those devices that have a suitable contact point or adapter.

Japan gets the battery packs first on May 28. It’s not known if the range will appear in the US, although their universal nature will allow them to ship largely unchanged for any international release.
