OnStar post Android and iPhone car control apps

OnStar today announced their promised remote control apps have arrived for both Android and iOS devices. The free myChevrolet, myCadillac and OnStar MyLinkare already in Apple’s app store. These apps can remotely unlock, start or sound the horn on the car as well as access information from the car itself, such as the fuel and oil levels, the tire pressure and the odometer.

Other features include the ability to flag a parking spot on a map, add notes weever take photos and start a timer to avoid running out the parking meter.

The apps should work with virtually all 2011 model year cars under the respective brands and should work with later versions of Android and iOS.
