OnePlusOnePlus has released a full version of its Oxygen operating system for its One smartphone. OnePlus released an alpha version of the operating system in January, but the new release is stable enough for all users

. The OnePlus One handset shipped last year with CyanogenMod based on Android 4.4 KitKat. OnePlus said it spent its first year in business concentrating on hardware and the second year concentrating on software.

OxygenOS is based on AOSP Android 5.0.2 Lollipop and includes many features with which Android users should be familiar. Some of the custom functions include gestures for waking the phone and controlling music, customizable lock screen behaviors, the ability to switch between hardware and software control keys, and a customizable Quick Settings panel. OnePlus said it plans to add features to the OS over time.

OxygenOS is free to download, but is only compatible with the OnePlus One smartphone. The OnePlus One is a high-end, low-cost smartphone. Consumers can buy it online directly from OnePlus starting at $299. It is sold unlocked and without a carrier contract
