OCZ has dislpayed its latest solid state drive, the Onyx 2 Series. The 2.5-inch SSDs are said to be priced lower than competing products but still sport SandForce controllers. Their maximum read speeds are rated at 270MBps, while write speeds peak at 265MBps.
The Multi-Level Cell drives can be had in either 120GB or 240GB capacities. Windows 7’s TRIM feature is supported and OCZ rates the mean time between failures (MTBF) at 1.5 million hours. Onyx 2 drives work with Windows, Linux and Mac OS X computers.
Pricing for the drives has not been disclosed.
