Ultrasone has released its latest headphones, and the first it offers with an open-backed design. The PRO 2900 can be had as a standard, single-cable version and a balanced, double-cable version built to provide a “transparent” quality which avoids excess bass or treble. The Balanced set is paired with a balanced amplifier to boost performance.
The four-channel amp has two inverted positive channels that uses two wires per earcup to deliver positive and negative audio signals to each. The titanium-plated drivers are 40mm in size and have a soft USC-Cable with Neurik connectors.
Both Msdels ship in a hard-sided carrying case.
Their frequency range hovers between 6Hz and 42,000Hz with an impedance at 40Ohms and sound pressure level at 96dB.
The standard PRO 2900 headphones are priced at $550, while the Balanced PRO 2900 headphones cost $800.
