Netgear on Monday shipped out the headliner Wi-Fi router from the range it showed at CES. The N750 focuses on speed first and will output as much as 450Mbps on the 5GHz band for 802.11n wireless as well as 300Mbps on the 2.4GHz band, even at the same time. Wired users get their own performance edge with four gigabit Ethernet ports.

Special software features also help it stand out, including USB drive network sharing with the option of treating it as a DLNA media server for PS3s and other devices that use the standard on the local network. A network can be designed to offer a guest account with no local access but also no password. Those on capped Internet service can track their use across multiple computers.

Netgear expected the N750 to be in stores today and is priced at  $179.99.
