Netflix has given “Narcos” Season 2 an official premiere date, so start training your drug sniffing dogs now. The Pablo Escobar crime drama will start streaming Sept. 2 at 12:01 a.m. in all Netflix territories. Netflix also released a brief teaser video along with the premiere date announcement. It shows Escobar staring menacingly into the camera.

The series chronicles the real-life stories of the infamous drug kingpins of the late 1980s — most notably Escobar (Wagner Moura) — and the corroborative efforts of law enforcement to meet them head on in brutal, bloody conflict.
It details the many, often-conflicting forces — legal, political, police, military and civilian — that clash in the effort to control cocaine, one of the world’s most valuable commodities.
The series stars Moura alongside Boyd Holbrook and Pedro Pascal as real-life DEA agents Steve Murphy and Javier Peña.

José Padilha and Eric Newman serve as executive producers of the series. “Narcos” is produced by Gaumont International Television for Netflix.
Back in December, Adam Fierro exited his role as executive producer on “Narcos” for Season 2. The former “The Walking Dead” consulting producer had been billed as the new showrunner on the drug trafficking drama upon its renewal. Netflix said Fierro was engaged for services on Season 2 of “Narcos,” which he completed, and his work is now finished. Watch the “Narcos” Season 2 teaser trailer below.
