NEC Announces the 10-inch LaVie Touch Tablet Powered by Windows 7

NEC announced an addition to its LaVie line of portable computers, a new tablet today dubbed the LaVie Touch. The Touch features a 10.1-inch IPS LCD panel with 1280×800 resolution and runs Windows 7 Home Premium. It will be bundled with wireless keyboard and mouse, and a DVD dock that also serves as a stand. The Touch is 10.4in x 7.2in, 0.62in. thick and weighs 1.6 pounds.

The Touch is powered by a 1.5GHz Atom CPU and uses the Intel SM35 Express chipset. It will have 2GB RAM and a 64GB SSD. The tablet will have two USB ports and an HDMI out, and 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR wireless connectivity. Other features include an SDHC expansion slot and a 1.3-megapixel camera.

NEC says the LaVie Touch will be available next month in Japan and will sell for ¥94,500 ($1,230). The company has not announced plans for other markets.
