Actress Morfydd Clark (The Alienist, His Dark Materials) has been cast in the leading role as a young Galadriel in Amazon’s upcoming The Lord of the Rings TV series.
This marks one of the first major characters from the book or film announced for the show. The character was famously portrayed by Cate Blanchett in Peter Jackson’s ‘Rings’ and ‘Hobbit’ film trilogies.
Clark joins a cast that includes Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle and Maxim Baldry. Writers JD Payne and Patrick McKay are developing the series while Bryan Cogman has signed on as a consulting producer.
J.A. Bayona will direct multiple episodes.
