Syntonetic has announced a new version of its Moodagent mobile app for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
Moodagent v2.0 allows listeners to share playlists via social web sites, including Facebook and Twitter, and allows for more control over the length of the playlist, as well as a number of other new features. Moodagent creates mood-based playlists using touchscreen sliders labeled Sensual, Tender, Happy, Angry, and Tempo. Listeners create playlists by adjusting the sliders, or by “seeding” a song for an entire playlist of tracks with similar a mood.
Moodagent v2.0 introduces the ability to share musical tastes on Twitter and Facebook, letting “friends” and “followers” know what is playing on the listener’s iPhone. Facebook friends will be able to see the entire playlist and a personal message. Another highly-requested enhancement is also available in the new version: Listeners can regulate the number of songs included in a playlist, anywhere from one song up to 50 songs. For listeners with limited music libraries, a smaller playlist of 10 songs may make a playlist more true to slider settings, while listeners with larger libraries may opt for a 40- or 50-song playlist.
A number of additional new features are available in Moodagent v2.0:
- Refresh or create multiple playlists from a single slider setup.
- Lock a track to ensure a particular song appears each time the playlist is refreshed.
- Exclude a track or artist from inclusion in playlists, for example holiday music.
- Label touchscreen sliders.
- Use the app in English, or localize by selecting Chinese (simplified), Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian or Spanish.
Moodagent is available on iTunes as an ad-supported version. An ad-free version will launch shortly for $4.99.
