Microsoft To Update Outlook.com Mobile Users

After updating Outlook.com for desktop users, Microsoft has now turned their focus to mobile users.

Microsoft is starting a series of updates and design changes for Outlook.com beta users on mobile, with the aim of being faster and working better. Surprisingly some mobile users still visit the mail service via their browser rather than set up an email client on their phone or tablet, and the upgrade is designed to serve these users better.

The update will be rolling out to beta users over the coming months, and in its early stages may have reduced functionality compared to the older, mature site.

If you are part of the beta and wish to revert to the older version you can opt out by:

1. Tap the Menu icon (3 horizontal lines in the upper left corner).
2. The Outlook Beta toggle button appears in the sidebar above.
3. Tap the toggle button to return to the classic version.

Conversely, if you want to be part of the new wave:

1. Log in to www.outlook.com in a mobile browser.
2. Touch the menu icon (3 horizontal lines in the upper left corner).
3. When your name and e-mail address appear, scroll down to the “Test beta version” toggle button.
4. Tap the Test Beta Version toggle button to activate the new version
