Microsoft is rolling out a new perk for users of devices running a number of its Windows builds. TechNet  pointed out that the software giant is now offering a free 30-day trial subscription for The New York Times app. The offer is available to all Windows users that can download apps through either the Windows Store or the Windows Phone Store.

The free subscription will mean unlimited access to all of the Times’ news articles and updates, as well as the paper’s photo and video sections. Special sections, such as the New York Times Magazine, T Magazine, and the Sunday Book Review are also accessible during the trial.

In order to take advantage of the trial offer, users must officially subscribe to the publication, providing a valid credit card number with the requisite contact information. Upon pressing subscribe, the user’s card will not be charged, as the app will display a final cost of $0.00. The user will, though, have to manually cancel their subscription at the end of 30 days, or the subscription will automatically renew and their card will be charged.

The subscription offer is available to all users of Windows 8, Windows RT, and Windows Phone 8 devices. The Times app is available for download for free in both the Windows Store and the Windows Phone Store.
