Panasonic today introduced its newest rugged camera, the Lumix DMC-TS10, Today. It hides a 14.1-megapixel sensor in its body, along with a 4x optical zoom lens. The TS10 can withstand submersion in up to 10 feet of water, is shockproof from five-foot drops and can withstand temperatures of 14F. A silicone cover is included to prevent surface scratches.
It has the ability to record 720p video, a built-in face detection mode, and an intelligent mode that will choose ideal settings based on the scene. Photos can be framed or played back on a 2.7-inch LCD, which can detect ambient light and increase backlighting by 40 percent to increase visibility in bright outdoor environments.
The camera ships in the middle of September in a choice of blue, red, black and silver, priced at $249.95. For more information on Panasonic LUMIX digital cameras, please visit: www.panasonic.com/lumix.
