Boarderlands_Hero.0.0Anthony Burch, the lead writer on Gearbox Software’s Borderlands 2 and a contributor to developer 2K Australia’s Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, is leaving the developer and moving to Los Angeles to write for a Hulu TV show, he revealed this morning on Twitter.

While at Gearbox, Burch also co-produced and co-starred in Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin’?, a comedy series on YouTube. In a subsequent tweet today, he wrote that he’s “still gonna do videogames stuff on the side.”

Last week, Hulu announced the original series from Lionsgate Television, Freddie Wong and RocketJump, the creators of the YouTube Video Game High School series. Eight half-hour episodes of the unnamed series will “chronicle the filmmaking behind RocketJump’s newest short” and debut exclusively on Hulu.

Earlier this week, Gearbox Software president Randy Pitchford took to Twitter to say that the studio is “recruiting for next Borderlands. This is the big one.”

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, the most recent game in the loot-filled first-person shooter series that began at Gearbox, was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 last year.
