LaCie today released a combination router and NAS (Network-Attached Atorage) unit called Wireless Space. Like the Time Capsule, it can share both an Internet connection over 802.11N Wi-Fi or over thre Ethernet ports. The Wi-Fi is single-band 802.11n , not dual-band.
The NAS can serve content to other devices with DLNA or UPnP as well as serve as an iTunes .
It has two USB ports on the back and one front to add more storage. For Mac users, the NAS can be used as a Time Machine backup disk
Price and Availability
Versions of the Wireless Space will come with 1TB or 2TB of storage and start at $230. Shipments start in October.
