Kristi Yamaguchi Hopes to Be Golden as Children’s Book Author

Nearly 20 years after capturing an Olympic gold medal in figure skating, Kristi Yamaguchi continues to embrace, and conquer, new challenges.

We for most of us we last saw her became the Season 6 celebrity champion of “Dancing With the Stars” in 2008.

Now she’s taking on children’s literature as the author of Dream Big, Little Pigan inspirational tale of determination and perseverance. Yamaguchi and her husband Bret Hedican have two daughters – Keara, 7, and Emma, 5.

The book, aimed at children between the ages of 3 and 10, focuses on Poppy, a “pot-bellied, waddling, toddling” porker who dreams of becoming a star. A sequel is already in the works.
