Deadline is reporting that Jessica Henwick (Iron Fist, Game of Thrones) is in talks to board the cast of The Matrix 4 in a lead role.
The outlet notes that director and co-writer Lana Wachowski is seeking a “female-like Neo character” for the fourth installment of the franchise, though it has not yet been confirmed who Henwick would play.
Henwick would join a cast that includes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, and returning cast members Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss. It was recently announced that Jada Pinkett Smith is also in talks to reprise her character Niobe in Warner Bros. sequel.
Production on the film is scheduled to begin in early 2020, Wachowski co-wrote the script with Aleksander Hemon and David Mitchell, who will direct the film as well.
Plot details on the film have not been disclosed.
