The Hollywood Reporter brings word that James Corden and Rose Byrne are both in talks to join Sony‘s upcoming film adaptation of Peter Rabbit, a live-action and CG hybrid film. Corden is in negotiations to provide the voice for the titular lagomorph, while Rose Byrne is in talks for one of the live-action roles.

Will Gluck (Annie, Easy A) will direct the film, which was originally written by Rob Lieber (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, The Goldbergs) and is described as a modern interpretation of the Beatrix Potter source material, built around the rivalry between the mischievous Peter and Mr. McGregor, a simple farmer from whom Peter steals crops.

Gluck is also producing the film with Zareh Nalbandian of Animal Logic Entertainment. The film is set to debut in theaters on March 23, 2018.

Currently the host of “The Late Late Show,” Corden is no stranger to acting, having previously appeared in the likes of Into the Woods and Begin Again,  and he has provided voice-over work for Planet 51 and the upcoming Trolls movie.

Byrne, on the other hand, has appeared in a number of high-profile summer movies this year, including Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising and X-Men: Apocalypse. She’s also known for appearing in the Insidious films and the TV series Damages.
