Jabra Releases Two New Headsets Aim for the Active Sport Crowd

Jabra has announced two new additions to its portfolio of headsets aimed at active individuals. The wireless Sport and the tethered Sport-Corded let listeners get music or talk during exercise. Both headsets are designed specifically to be both securer and comfortable while biking or running.

The Sport-Corded lets a user switch between listening to music and talking, answer or end calls, or skip music tracks while exercising. Its microphone is designed to minimize wind and noise distortion.

The Sport integrates an FM radio into a stereo Bluetooth headset for listening even when there’s no music player. It can be used with iOS, Android, and Blackberry OS devices, as well as regular Bluetooth equipped phones or music players. The headset offers up to 4.5 hours of talk time on a charge and up to three hours of music listening.

Jabra is offering a free download of Endomondo’s Sports Tracker app with the Sport. Sport Tracker is a fitness tracker that provides updates on speed, distance, and lap time. Routes are marked out on GPS and available to the user later. The app works with iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry handsets.

The Sport is priced at $99 and will be sold through Amazon, Apple, Sprint, and T-Mobile. The Sport-Corded is more frugal at $69 but will be available only through Amazon. Both headsets will begin shipping sometime this month.
