Hasselblad H4X – Sold Only Thur Trade-In Program

Hasselblad has unveiled a new medium-format camera body, the H4X, that can only be had through a trade-in program. Likely intended to spur upgrades from the aging H1, H2, and H2F bodies, the H4X will take on most digital and film backs along with third-party lenses. Current H4D cameras are completely integrated and are potentially expensive for those who own an existing body.

It incorporates certain features from the H3D and H4D cameras, including True Focus for locking back in when the subject moves. Compared to the H4D, the H4X gets a Drive button instead of the hybrid ISO/white balance button.

Those who trade in the H1, H2 or H2F will then be able to buy the H4X, prices for which start at €3,995 (about $5,650). This includes only the CR-123 grip. Hasselblad will offer H4X owners a full trade-in benefit of €3,995 towards their H4D system if they buy again within 12 months
