Harman Kardon Launches the Nova Stereo Desktop Speakers

Harman Kardon has announced a new set of desktop speakers, the Nova stereo system. The new speakers are compatible with virtually any device, with an array of wired and wireless inputs that allow it to accompany Roku set-top boxes, standard HDTVs, Apple TV systems, and more. Harman Kardon packs these capabilities into a small, versatile form factor that can be placed on a desktop or in an entertainment system.

The Nova system packs 2.5-inch drivers and 1.25-inch tweeters, which Harman Kardon says will yield a richer listening experience. Along with that, the speakers have passive radiators with a turbine enclosure, which allows for extended bass response. They pack a frequency response of 70Hz to 20kHz, and Harman Kardon’s DSP technology allows for improved soundstaging and voicing.

The speakers also have Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to stream from a stereo, smartphone, or tablet. For users with devices that have NFC connectivity, the Nova system also has a quick-pairing feature, activated simply by touching the mobile device to the speakers.

The Nova desktop stereo system retails for $300. The sound system is eligible for free shipping from Amazon, as well as from Hardan Karmon.
