Freaky One Way Trip Coming On PS4 and Vita

One Way Trip, announced for PlayStation 4 and Vita, centers on a protagonist who has been part of a mass poisoning. Not only does this mystery poison kill people after only six hours, those inflicted spend their remaining moments hallucinating. Not just your pleasant colorful waves, or warm sensations of being one with the universe, but more worrying side effects, like watching as your character’s arm transforms into a dolphin.

“… One Way Trip is about mortality and opportunity cost. You probably won’t be able to accomplish all of your goals, but you’ll have the freedom to choose what your life is about, and what you decide is important to you,” wrote project lead Michael Frauenhofer on the PlayStation.blog. According to Frauenhofer, One Way Trip approaches these heady topics “through a mixture of both constant choice-based branching and a deeper, more procedural systems-based approach.”

“At any given point, wherever you are and whatever you do, everyone else is actively living their own lives and working towards their own goals, altering the fabric of the narrative,” Frauenhofer added.

There’s currently no release date or price tag attached to One Way Trip, though it has been confirmed for release on the PlayStation 4 and Vita handheld.
