Today Elgato announced its latest TV tuner, the EyeTV Netstream DTT, which will stream DVB-T and Freeview digital free-to-air programming to all Macs or PCs on a home network.   This is great news for those of you how live in Europe and the UK. It’s not known if an ATSC equivalent will appear for the US and Canadian markets..

The dual tuner will let users watch, record or perform a combination of each to two different programs at the same time. It carries built-in support for the Mac’s Bonjour as well as UPnP networks.

The tuner ships with EyeTV 3or enabling TV viewing on Macs, along with TerraTec Home Cinema for Windows 7 and support for Windows Media Center. A telescopic antenna is included, and the Elgato tuner can send TV signals wirelessly if a Wi-Fi network is available. HD broadcasts can also be viewed and sent wirelessly over networks with high enough bandwidth.

The EyeTV Netstream DTT is now available in Europe, priced at the equivalent of $340 after tax. The tuner is not likely to arrive in North America, as DVB-T and Freeview broadcasting don’t operate in the region.
