The recently unveiled Cr-48 Chrome OS netbook from Google is now shipping to the press or who were otherwise at its special event. Ben Kessler Communications Director at SeatGeek posted a Twitter update on Thursday showing photographic evidence. Other media have also said theirs are coming in.

The unbranded netbook spots a full keyboard but lacks certain keys, including function keys and a Caps Lock button. The trackpad is clickable, and Google encourages users to hack the netbook with a toggle switch that turns off the verified boot. A Qualcomm Gobi modem is built into the netbook as well for 100MB of free Verizon 3G each month for two years.

Google promises eight hours of battery life for the 1.66GHz Atom-powered device, which according to the company will never be sold to the public.
