DssW Announces Activity Audit for Mac

Posted by at 1:30 am on April 3, 2011

Activity Audit is a new app from DssW, the British firm that makes Power Manager. The purpose of Activity Audit is to create a journal of application use using calendar events. It is designed not only to track what was used and for how long, but to reveal patterns of activity and usage that can highlight where efficiencies might be improved and energy could be saved.

Users can have Activity Audit store its data in an existing iCal calendar or create a new one. Data from iCal can easily be synced to Google Calendar if a user prefers that option using third-party syncing. The auditing process runs in the background and only covers the activities of the user who initiated the process. Specific applications or entire folders of applications can be excluded to help focus on actual user interaction (for example, by default all System and Library folders are excluded).

Activity Audit costs $9 and can be downloaded directly from the company’s website (a 14-day demo is available also) or from the Mac App Store. It requires Mac OS X 10.6.7 or later.
