Dell New Pre-Loaded Movie Service With the Launch of Iron Man

Dell today may has taken the next step in the era of PC personalization with the launch of its pre-loaded movie service. Starting today, coinciding with the DVD release, Dell’s movie selection premieres with one of the top grossing films of 2008 -“ Iron Man from Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment. For the first time, consumers can customize select Dell desktops and laptops with exclusive pre-“installed movie bundles.  

Is just this another sign the package media, what the movie biz calls Blu-ray and DVD media, is going away in favor of online  downloads  and the preload service Dell is now doing?  

Through www.dell.com/movies for $20.00, Iron Man fans can order a special digital edition with a bonus featurette pre-loaded on select Inspiron, Dell Studio, and XPS laptops and desktops. With this feature, Dell has a no download required method of acquiring digital entertainment for consumers by installing movie(s) when ordering a factory-direct to PC.

Dell plans to expand future entertainment selections and will continually refresh its offerings.
